CJ Milblog Conference
February 6th, 2006 by CJ
On April 22, military bloggers from all over will converge on DC for the first ever Milblog Conference. While a venue hasn't been located yet, we are working very closely with the VFW. I'm proud to announce that I have been asked to participate and have accepted the invitation. The conference is designed to bring milbloggers together for one full day of interesting discussion on topics associated with milblogging. We will explore the history of milblogs, as well as what the future may hold for this medium which the military community is using to tell their stories.
The great thing about this conference is that it won't be just military bloggers. There will be veterans, family members, theater bloggers, and others there. Blogging has become a medium where information can be shared right "from the horse's mouth." This is one of the first chances to meet the horse's in person and exchange ideas. Thankfully, the dress code is going to be casual!!
The following milbloggers are scheduled to attend:
Panel #1 – Milblogs: Past, Present and Future
Moderator: Buzz Patterson.
Panelists:
CJ from A Soldier’s Perspective
Matt from Blackfive
JP from Milblogging.com
John from The Officers’ Club
Panel #2 – Milblogging Family Style
Moderator: Andi from Andi's World
Panelists:
Carla from Some Soldier's Mom
Carren From My Position
Chuck From My Position
Panel #3 – Blogging From Theater
Panelists:
Bill Roggio from ThreatsWatch
Jeff from Dadmanly
Official Conference Bloggers:
Kit and Heidi from Euphoric Reality
Lynn from GunnNutt
La Shawn from La Shawn Barber's Corner
Holly from Soldiers’ Angels – Holly Aho
Lisa and Chris from Two Babes and a Brain
Registration for the conference is free of charge. Due to seating limitations, there are only 300 seats available for this event. Milbloggers and/or members of the military community will be allowed to pre-register. There are 150 seats reserved for the military community. Registration doesn't open until February 8. There will be a link on the main site.
For the record, this conference is not sponsored, sanctioned, censored by, or in any way affiliated with the Department of Defense.

Glad to see Chuck & Carren are coming to the conference. I got to know them both pretty well during Chuck's stays at Walter Reed. If you have never met them, CJ, you really should spend some time with them at this conference – I think you guys would really hit it off!! Sabo
Wow…those are some heavy hitters! Have fun, CJ! I hope you are able to take pictures and post them up.
What a line-up CJ! Man this is waaaay better than the Oscars…..take pictures;)
SK said it before I could–PICTURES, please!!
I won't forget my camera again…I promise. Picture will be aplenty.
We should have a "CJ Roast" at the conference.
I wouldn't taste that good. I'm very bitter and chewy. Besides, nothing could offend me. I guess if there were something that could, JP would find it though. hehe
I'd tell ya to roast JP but what could you say that might 'get him'? You could always ask his sister for photos…she has some lovely ones;)
CJ's right. He's like teflon. Nothing can stick. he he.
I've tried.
