Teary Queen

It's funny. I remarked to Emily either yesterday or the day before that about Chris not saying weird things lately. We concluded it must have been a phase. Then tonight happens…
For those of you that are new since the last Chris-ism I did, these are collections of the weird things that my son says. He will be turning 8 on Sunday. Look at it as a kind of "Kids Say The Darndest Things".
For those that don't know, today was my 32nd birthday. I got a card from my dad with $40 in it. I decided after (a very delicious) dinner that I was going to take the kids to Dairy Queen for my birthday. Chris and I will be sharing a cake on Saturday (from Cold Stone Creamery). We pulled up and ordered our ice creams. The kids and Emily ordered a dipped cone and I ordered my favorite blizzard, "Chocolate Extreme". Then we waited….and waited….and waited.
There was only one car ahead of us. after ten minutes since ordering at the drive-thru, I got irritated and drove off. The car in front was still waiting for their ice cream. On the way to Cold Stone Creamery I heard a noise coming from the back seat. Chris was back there crying and I asked him why he was crying.
"I feel sad because we just drove away without telling them," he said. Probably not the best thing to do, but Emily and I busted into laughter before explaining the concept of customer service.
You can read more Chris-isms HERE. Now I'm off to write Dairy Queen corporate.

Well, "Happy Birthday CJ" and an early "Happy Birthday" to Chris! I didn't know that today was your birthday! 32 years old sounds very young to me now that I'm older than that shall we say Hee!
Sorry about the dairy queen adventure! They must have been short handed or just not very work brittle as we say here!
Chris has such cute sayings. He doesn't understand how this big adult world works yet. Hope he can stay a child for quite some time yet before he finds out.
Happy Birthday CJ!!!
Awww. You (just like the rest of us) were just annoyed at the long wait while poor Chris is sitting there thinking sadly about the poor Dairy Queen employees. He was probably picturing them standing there at the window, ice cream in hand, saying "Where'd that nice young family go? We made their ice cream just for them, with love and caring, and they just drove off and left us here!" ;-P
You have a wonderfully sweet, empathetic boy there. I hope he never loses that.
Happy Birthday to you and Chris! March is a great month to be born in. Someday you will look back at 32 as a fond memory,,,if you can remember it
I know I can't
Thanks everyone. Karen, I had already forgotten till I checked my email. Then I checked the mirror and counted the reduced number of hairs on my head, the new hairs growing on my ears and nose, extra inches on my midsection, and wrinkles on my face. I then took note of the stiffness getting out of bed, my diet of prunes and ex-lax chocolate, and wondered when my electric chair would arrive. I'll keep you informed. hehe.
CJ,
Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoyed your special day.
And another belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you both!
CJ,
Happy Belated Birthday to you and Happy Birthday to Chris.
Happy Birthday to the old man and the little man!! J/K
32……Oh how I remember being that age…..
The headlights on the cars were Kerosine Lamps….
Oh 11th, you're never old till it hurts to pee. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Happy birthday CJ! (Belated)
Well, I *KNOW* I made a mental note to remember that another great person was born on March 2!! Unfortunately, the note must have slipped through the cracks- because I forgot! :-O
Happy belated birthday CJ!! I agree that 32 sounds SOOOO young to one of my advanced age! LOL
Happy birthday to Chris, too!
OMG YOU ARE YOUNGER THAN ME! (but only by a year)
Happy birthday CJ!
One tiem i took my kids thru a mcdonald's drive thru…the kind with "two" windows…pay at one, get your food at the other… .well, I paid at the first window, got my change, and then drove off happily towards home…. till my kids freaked out and said, "MOM YOU FORGOT OUR FOOD!!!" duh…ooopss…. those were my brain-dead, exhausted single-mom days…. (now I'm in my brain-dead, married-mom days, hahaha)
