Antimedia has published the results of the lastest Iraq index:

The latest Iraq Index is out today. February had the lowest fatality rate for US troops in five months. (I emphasize rate to preempt the obvious rejoinder that February only had 28 days.)

Iraqi military and police fatalities were the lowest in twelve months. Lethal car bombs were the lowest in seventeen months and one fifth of what they were at their peak in May of last year. Civilian Iraqi deaths were down, despite the recent spate of violence.

The actual number of claimed dead in the recent mosque controversy varies so widely it's impossible to know with certainty what the actual death toll is, but, if the Iraq report is correct, it's a lot lower than what we've been hearing.
