2006 Army Times Soldier Of The Year
April 6th, 2006 by Admin

Nominations are open for the 6th Annual Army Times Soldier Of The Year. Army Times Publishing Company began the Military Times Service Members of the Year award in 2001 to recognize an outstanding member of each branch of service. The initial program highlighted exemplary achievement beyond the call of duty. The award's criteria now include the following:
* High level of professionalism
* Concern for fellow service members
* Commitment to community service
Many of the candidates for this award will likely be among those often overlooked and unsung. Nominations may be submitted by any of our readers, making this “grassroots award unique from any other awards given to members of our Armed Forces. Army Times Publishing Company, through the respective marketing and editorial staffs of each service's newsweekly (Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times, Marine Corps Times), provides the vehicle through which the award is bestowed.
So, if you know a Soldier that you think fits this build, go HERE and vote for them. Vote for your Sailor HERE. Vote for your Marine HERE. Vote for your Airman HERE. And don't forget to vote for your favorite Coast Guardsman HERE.Don't wait…the nomination period ends April 17th. That gives you just 11 days to come up with a good candidate. You can read about last year's Soldier of the Year HERE and also click around to see the winners from other services.
Now, before anyone gets the idea that I'm hinting towards desiring a nomination, it's quite the opposite. I'm asking you NOT to put me in for the award even if you were thinking about it. Find someone that you believe deserves this award and put him or her in for it.

My thought is, who deserves it more than you CJ?
No, really. Please don't. There are a LOT of soldiers who deserve it more. I honestly just want to publicize the contest. I can think of three off the top of my head. Hint: America's Finest.
Even though I will honor your request CJ and not nominate you I have to agree with Terri. I feel you are very worthy of the nomination and the win.
I shall give you the …11th …..Award……
It's not well known but it's a Good Award…..
LOL……
