Marcus Phone call from Murtha

June 25th, 2006 by Marcus

I got a phone call from Jack Murtha this afternoon. It was about 1400 and I was busy playing World of Warcraft, which is the greatest PC game on the planet. I digress so back to Murtha. Anna answered the phone and her face soon gave way to the look of shock and disbelief. She handed the phone to me and I couldn’t believe he was actually called me.

“Hi, Cpl M. Jack Murtha here. I haven’t slept in weeks and felt I had to call you. There are some things I have to let you in on. I will need you keep all of this off the record of course as I can’t risk the rest of America learning what I am about to say.”

I managed a murmured ummhrm or something like that as my disbelief turned to rage. Murthafocker had dared to call me after everything he has said. There was no way anything would be off the record.

“There is very good reason I said the horrible things about the Corps in the last few weeks. It all ties into how we will achieve victory in Iraq and the fall elections. Are you willing to hear me out?”

I was sure this was just a ploy to piss me off even more than he already has. “Continue,” I said.

“My heart still lies with the Corps. I want to make that very clear. I am playing to the far left and our enemies overseas in hopes that I can draw them near. I’m pandering to the left’s anti-war attitude for votes this fall for others who think like me. Once they get elected, we can shift our policy to support the War on Terror where it should be. I’m giving comfort to the enemy to make them cocky and complacent. The more they think we’ll pull out, the more mistakes they’ll start to make. In the end, they will be their own downfall. Victory in Iraq is near, and once we achieve it you will understand everything.”

I wasn’t able to get in any type of opinion before he ended the call. I attempted to call him back using the call return feature on my phone, but I only got a recording that the feature wasn’t available for use on the last call.

I wish I could say that the above really took place. Full disclosure: it didn’t. That was a work of fiction to start out my latest thoughts on Murtha. They haven’t changed much, but now I have more to base them on.

1. Pure political slime
Murtha has been a member of Congress for a very long time. His name wasn’t even known outside Washington and his district until very recently. He saw a way that would get his name known across the nation and pounced on it. He is now using his newfound fame from slandering the military to set his sights on a political promotion to House majority leader; a post that will only be his if Democrats take majority in the House this fall and he beats out others that go for the title.

2. “War Hero”
Murtha claims to be a war hero of Vietnam. He is using his experience to bully others into silence since, as he claims, no one else understands since they don’t have combat experience. His Purple Hearts have been questioned several times and he himself may have admitted he did not deserve them in debate on the floor of the House in the 80’s.

3. Corrupt. Very corrupt.
Murtha managed to avoid going to jail back in the 80’s because he rolled on other people. Abscam got seven congressmen a stay at Club Fed while Murtha was only a “co-conspirator” and escaped indictment by name. Murtha has also added various earmarks to bills that sent lots and lots of defense contracting money to relatives, former aides, and relatives of other Democrats. Keepin’ it real in the family, yo.

Those are just three of the reasons I dislike Murtha. There are probably more but those are the biggies. More on Murtha’s status of “War Hero” at CNS and more on Murtha’s Abscam involvement at Sweetness & Light.

  1. Jack Murtha is anti-American. I have no use for a former Marine who plays his Viet Nam experience as his ticket to give aid and comfort to our enemy. Sometime between 1968 and 2000, Murtha crossed over to the other side.

Too bad the VC didn't whack him.

No doubt Murtha is a slimeball. Maybe just ignoring the SOB is the answer?

For info. I believe I had heard on a news station that was going over his military records that when he was in Vietnam he was a Logistics Officer. That interprets to "Supply Officer." How many combat patrols do Supply Officers go on? Maybe there is somebody within your blog community who can check this? That would be an interesting tidbit of information.

    Ken,

Murtha hasn't disclosed his full military record. I'm not sure where that information could have come from, but I'd be interested to see. I may attempt to dig but no promises.

    Cpl M,
You are funny. You had me on the edge of my seat thinking that Murtha really called you. You probably wouldn't have been able to talk to him without barfing.

What he is saying is purely political I'm sure but he is hurting our military and our country in the process.
