Silence ordered to Corporal Belile?
June 30th, 2006 by Marcus
Marine Corporal Joshua Belile of Hadji Girl fame may be under orders from his command not the record or perform the song. I’m not an expert on military law, although I try my best to understand it. Normally I support any and all command decisions out of respect for the chain, but this one may cross the line. They could easily get away with it under the good order and discipline clause of the UCMJ, I think. Are there any readers out there that are true experts on the UCMJ? Does this violate his First Amendment rights?
More background information about Cpl Belile and Hadji Girl can be found at Michelle Malkin’s latest blog entry on the subject.
