Funny how you are "torn" about Cindy Sheehan's right to spend (and in my opinion waste) her money any way she wants to. But hey, when you're defending a lie, who can expect you to understand real freedom, anyway?

Hey M!! In private ins policies I can leave the proceeds to anyone of my choosing as beneficiary. There may be a period of contestability where all death claims are investigated, as to insure no foul play. You cannot benefit if you committed a crime to get the $$$. Otherwise, I could declare you my beneficiary and that is my right…you however cannot buy a policy on me w/o having what is deemed an "insurable interest".

Miriam, the site is completely moved. If you're using Firefox to view the page on that computer, you may have to delte the cookie that deals with our site to refresh it. That should fix the problem.

As regards to private insurance, a parent can collect on a child's life insurance at any age if they are the beneficary. In fact, the usual dispersements if there are not live beneficaries go to: spouse, children, parents & siblings…in that order. I can't think of anything Cindy has done that I approve of. Truthfully, I can't figure out how such a brave soldier got such a nut-job mom. She'll probably only be enamored of Texas for the next two years until the presidential estate moves on to another place. I suppose as long as she is here, decent folks will have to abide her strident presence. That is, I don't think they are planning any colonies on Mars at present.
