SNAFUSNAFU 1st CAV, 3BSTB

October 22nd, 2006 by SNAFU

Terri again with another update for everyone. They're now in Iraq at thier FOB and things are pretty busy, with getting their operations set up and ready to go. SNAFU ddn't have a lot of news when I talked to him, but did want everyone to know that they've arrived and they're safe and ready to do the job that's been asked of them. He also wanted me to THANK everyone for all of their thoughts, prayers and support.

Not sure how often I'll hear from him, due to spotty cell phone coverage, until their computers are set up and they're all up to speed on what they're tasked to do in Country.
I'll be in San Antonio to a training all week, but I'll post any updates I get next weekend before I leave again to the last week of the training.

I'm checking mail and such here at the hotel in San Antonio before I head to class for the day. Heard from SNAFU late last night. Not much news other than he said I'd be happy to know his job there was going to be boring! LOL! Boring equals "fairly safe" so yeah I was happy to hear that! Other than that, he ordered a "double scotch" when we went to happy hour at the hotel bar. Sooooooo, that tells me that at least he still has his sense of humor intact!

  6. Miriam says:

Tell him we wish him a VERY boring tour. :)

Got a phone call from SNAFU last night. He'll be working Midnight to 8am shift which works out well with my work schedule, as far as being able to chat online. He says that the FOB he's at is the "armpit" of Iraq and he's looking for something to make his stay there a bit more interesting. Hmmmmmmm not sure that I like the sound of that.
