There's something about hearing it instead of reading it that really got me. I loved the pictures put to the reading as well. Really hit home.

I agree CJ, which is why I sent it to all my Heroes. It had me in tears and I figured that you all would enjoy "hearing" it instead of just reading it. You all are the greatest!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

  4. Bob C. says:

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of our warriors, and to the Sea Soldier who wrote the original poem. Thanks for stand guard to keep us free. May the culture of death be defeated. May God keep you in the hollow of his hand!
    Semper Fi,

I was thrilled today when I got a Christmas card from one of my old pen pals who was deployed last year. I'm glad to know she is home this year, and not in Iraq anymore. I hadn't heard from her since her return to the States about a year ago.

i found a book called "a soldiers silent night" meant for children at our local Bx. i bought it for our 7 yr old son, he loved it so much i had to read it to him about 5 times and each time i choked up in the same spots. (hubby is on 3rd deployment to iraq). it had the same exact poem as this one in the video, the pictures cartoons (meant for kids as i said). i love this book and i know we'll read it for many christmases to come. i've toyed with the idea of asking our son to read it as i videotape so i can mail the tape to hubby. but then i thought, well maybe thats too corny so i havent LOL

Liz I think that would be a wonderful idea and I'm sure it would be something that your husband would treasure. I'd say go for it!

  8. sue says:

Liz, what a wonderful idea!! I'm with Terri. I think that it would mean so much to your hubby.
