When Funny AFN Commercials Strike!
September 15th, 2007 by Marcus
I have a TV with AFN (Armed Forces Network for those not in the know) here in my office and I just saw the funniest commercial EVER. Let me set the scene.
An older Army 3-star general (I didn't catch his name) is standing in front of what looks like a bar. He had been talking for a few minutes and like all other AFN commercials, I had zoned it out. All of a sudden, I zone back in when he says. . .
Being a good wingman means getting your buddy home safe.
I kid you not. He used the term wingman in a commercial without completely losing it. Thanks for the laugh, AFN and military PSAs!

It was an AF General. We have the "wingman" program. It is the term we use to make sure you look after your comrades while out enjoying yourself.
ever see the commercial with the teen boy on the computer, and he's talking to a 'girl' about meeting up in real life, then he mentions he'll wear a red tee-shirt, then when he says 'bye' the camera zooms in on an old[er] gentleman who then says 'see you later, Justin' in THE creepiest voice ever? yeah, im terrified of the AFN and it's tactfulness. random, okay later!
Hey, there was a USMC birthday message from the commadant of the marine corps that shows him walking into the tavern where the marines were "born" and walking up to younger marines and sharing a beer. Doesn't the marine corps have a policy about being in uniform while patronizing a facility whose primary purpose is the consumtion of alcohol? Did anyone reprimand the general and his sergeant major who appeared with him? If not, why the double standard?
Best one Ever that I have seen yet: "Huff now and YOU TOO can Die! LoL the sarcasm is thick that one.
