Dillard's Military Appreciation Days
November 8th, 2007 by Patriot
Dillard’s Inc. announced its stores will hold Military Appreciation Days in all its stores Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
In recognition for the efforts of men and women in uniform, the company will offer a 20 percent discount to military personnel (10% off furniture and appliances). According to a release by Dillard’s, discounts apply to: active military members and their immediate family; full-time active Guardsmen and their immediate family; activated Guardsmen and their immediate family; and activated reservists and their immediate family.
Qualified shoppers can visit the stores on either or both days. Dillard’s requests that the military personnel save their receipts, take them to the Dillard’s customer service area and show a valid military ID. Family members shopping on behalf of military personnel are asked to present an ID that notes that their loved one is in the military.
Dillard’s will apply the discount and return the funds in the same form of payment the military individual or family member uses to purchase their goods.

I spoke with a representative of the Dillards home office at (501) 376-5965, which is the office of Julie J. Bull, director of investor relations.
The dates of the 2007 Military Appreciation Days is actually the 5th and 6th of December.
Please post a correction on your site so that all parties can be correctly informed.
Thanks
It is very nice for Dillards to provide this benefit to our active military. I have but one question. What about all the retirees who proudly and honorably served their country for 20 years? What about the spouses and families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and died to protect the freedoms of their country? It seems that with all the good intensions, these catigories of military are all but forgotten. Again, thank you for remembering our military currently serving but what about the rest of us?
It always moves me when the US communities and businesses show support for our armed forces personnel. These are the businesses I continue to frequent. I'm an avid Dillard's shopper, always have been. And in the past I have made sure I took advantage of Dillard's Military Appreciation Days. However, I retired after 28 years of active duty service, shouldn't my service to my country, like so many other retirees/veterans, still count? Let's not forget their years of sacrifices.
this is for SFC (Retired) Homer Galloway & SMSgt (Retired) Terry
we should be lucky they are even giving any type of discount. Yes you served, and thank you. Maybe you should get some sort of discount, but the soldiers that serving now should get more. And the spouses/family members, come on, it's about the soldiers now!
"Yes you served, and thank you." That's what you say to someone who gave 28 years of their life, knowing they could lose it at any moment? "…it's about the soldiers now!" While I agree that the current service members and their families are enduring trying times right now because they are actively dealing with war, many veterans continue to endure trying times for the wars they served in decades ago. Many of whom, such as the Vietnam veterans, are still coping daily with broken bodies, broken minds, and broken spirits. They didn't get the love and support of caring people like you back then. They got spit on…literally.
I'm not trying to scold you. I just want to give recognition to the fact that military members and their families continue to sacrifice long after their service. Just because someone is "retired" it does not mean they are "living on easy street".
Besides, if more people are offered discounts, there will likely be more people shopping in that store…i.e. spending money…i.e. helping the economy. It's a win-win situation! ;-}
it's for today and tomorrow!!!
its for today
Actually, if you call 1800-345-5273, the discount days are Dec. 2nd and 3rd! Very conflicting stories! And she also informed me that it includes police and fire personell! But does not include reserves.
