My cooperating teacher was the wife of a military retiree, so she was supportive of me sharing Jason's story with the thrid graders. Shortly after that, I did a lesson on memorials, showing a video of the memorials in DC. As a related assignment, the students were asked to design a memorial to anyone they wanted.
