Marcus Prayers Needed

May 27th, 2008 by Marcus

Please keep my family in your prayers as we go through a tough time. My Memaw (step-grandmother) passed away yesterday after a long fight with cancer. I won't be leaving San Diego, though I had the option. I would love to be with my family during this trying time, but my training needs to be completed. Memaw was a wonderful woman who treated me and my brother like we were blood family. I can't express in words how awesome that was. I will truly miss her.

After serving in Vietnam as an infantry platoon leader, I was met with an even greater challenge.

In 1991 I received a heart transplant. My book, Mr. NewHeart, is the story of that incredible story. See it at my website.

Although, hard to believe, it was more difficult than serving in combat in Vietnam.

Losing a beloved grandmother is difficult. While you may not be able to be with your family, know that your cyber-family is with you in spirit and prayer.

Marcus, I'm praying for you and your family. Be sure to keep your beloved Memaw's memory alive. That'll get you through a lot as you go along in life. I know my Grandma is still 'with' me.

You got it Marine! We are praying for you and your family during these painful times. I know that it hurts even if you know that they have gone on to a better place. And yes, real Marines do cry. Hang in their Marcus. As Becky said, talk about it, it will help.
