Blogging From On High
September 22nd, 2008 by Admin
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a difficult post. This morning I was informed that our blogging community has lost one of its own. Bane, of Bane Rants, passed away this morning. For those of you that read his stuff, you know what a loss this is. You also know that the family wasn't exactly in great financial shape.
Unfortunately, with his death, his bank accounts have been frozen so we can't donate directly to the family yet. However, I would like to collect money on their behalf. If you would like to donate money to help the family with funeral and hospital expenses, please use the paypal link on the right sidebar (for Paypal, Credit, debit card, or e-check donations). Any money put into this account from now until I announce the end will go towards Bane's family unless you specifically tell me otherwise. Additionally, if you'd like to mail me a check to consolidate, email me for an address.
Bane will be missed – especially on Fridays! Please keep his family in your prayers and thank you for your help. ASP will be kicking in the first $50.
Marcus Adds: LL got me reading Bane a good while back. At first, I couldn't believe how someone could write like he did. I think I even took offense at one of the first things I read from him. But LL calmed me down, explained how Bane wrote, and I died laughing. Ever since he has been one of the main places I would go for a little stress release when work got to be a bit much. His humor, take no prisoners attitude, and tell it like it is style of writing will forever be remembered.
May the Lord rest your soul, Bane. I'll see you at post and relief.

Thank you so much, CJ. Some people are aware and some are not, he has 2 sons in the USMC and a daughter married to an Army officer. He served in the military himself for a while. He was rude and crude and abrasive. Judgmental and experimental. You either loved him or hated him. I loved him. I was his code monkey. And any little bit will help. Thanks again. You're the best.
My prayers are with Bane's family.
So sorry to hear this….
prays and condolences
Bane was a brother and I'll gladly toss down a bill, I wouldn't have made it to the Milblog convention last year without his help. Cranky old bastard was a true friend and will be missed.
Prayers for all who love Bane..
God blessings and peace be with Bane's family and friends.
I'm sorry to admit that I have just started to read his stuff and get to know him. Best wishes to his family and God bless.
