CJCJ I Called It!

October 24th, 2008 by CJ

You may recall that in my "I'm Leaving The Army" post, I wrote the following:

With the government snatching up bad mortgages and failing banks the only logical next step is for them to take over faulty car loans. How can I be expected to pay for my car if I can't get a job or pay for my home?! In anticipation of that, I'm going out tomorrow to buy the car of my dreams. To think that for the longest time I didn't think I could actually afford the new Dodge Charger, but I'm not worried about any more. When they try to repossess my car, I'll just complain to my Congressman that the automaker is price gouging and charged me more for the car than I could afford.

This was on October 11th. Many thought I was a crazy and some people thought that the notion of the government buying me a car was probably a bit far fetched. Was it?

Michigan lawmakers intend to urge Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to use their regulatory powers to loosen up credit to help finance car loans.
…..
"There is no single segment of America's economy that is more critical to the financial well-being of millions of Americans than the automotive industry," the lawmakers said.

That's right, folks! According to the Associated Press, members of our Democratically led Congress want the government to pay for Dodge Charger! I'm not as dumb as my IQ would suggest I am!!

The problem is not just the dummy-craps running congress but president Bush "feeling" for anyone who couldn't plan their financial lives properly.

I don't understand why we continue to coddle everyone, it's as though failure is not an option anymore. I bet you anything if that bill passes he will just sign it.
