[Last Update] I Need A New Design Contest
December 24th, 2008 by Admin
UPDATE: I find this whole contest highly suspicious so I'm bowing out. The site goes down for a few days and I'm only 850 votes behind the #2 spot and about 3,000 from the #1. Then, miraculously, when the site come back up after just a couple of days, I'm over 2,000 behind #2 (whom I was quickly gaining on, mind you) and 8,600 behind the #1 spot. Thanks to everyone who tried. We put up a good fight, but like the elections in Minnesota, I want nothing to do with this kind of corruption. I'm going to focus on just writing the stories for our troops.
This is where the competition gets tight, so please help to spread the word by emailing your friends and family, posting a blog on your Facebook or MySpace pages (or send a bulletin), and vote daily from each computer you use. Thanks for pushing us into the top 4!!
I hope everyone is having a very Merry Christmas. For Christmas this year, I'd like you to give me something that won't cost you a dime. I'd like to completely retool They Have Names. Come January 1st, my New Year's Resolution is going to be to get back to writing profiles of our fallen troops. I've taken a long break and the only way I'm going to get back to it is if I force myself.
LifeBlue is holding a contest for a FREE site redesign and I need your help to win this thing. Currently, everything on They Have Names is cumbersome to manage and completely assembled with HTML. Every entry has to be meticulously hand edited and is very time consuming.
The "I Need A New Design" Contest is logging votes all the way through February 15th, 2009. Registration is easy and you can do it ANYTIME throughout the contest. One winner will be selected by the average daily votes, and the other winner will be selected by the total number of votes throughout the entire contest. That means whether you join the first day, or the last day of the contest, you still have the same chance of winning!
All you have to do is click the "Ranked #" button on the sidebar to vote for me. It's that easy!! If you'd REALLY like to help, send me an email to get the the code and place the button on YOUR site as well. The winner will get a complete, free web redesign and $500. I need you to vote and vote daily. The more places you can put the button, the better. Thanks in advance for your help.

First I want to wish all the men and women serving our country and their family a Merry Christmas and Happy new Year. It is very hard to be away from home during the holidays and many have losses far beyond many experiences of others. I want you to know you are loved and remerbed in our thoughts and prayers. I will be easy to vote for you.Thank you for your service
Merry Christmas to All. You got my Vote. When I get to my brothers I will have him vote also.
My vote is in and I'll vote as often as possible! Hope you win, CJ!
My vote is in today & if you leave the post at the top to remind me, I'll vote every day. Forgot to ask if we can vote more than once from each computer?
Yes you can as long as the computers have different IP addresses (ie: in different locations or on different servers).
I'll vote like I was in Chicago…early and often.
LOL Mary*Ann!! You're gonna have some help CJ, I passed on the link.
CJ, Thank you for doing THEY HAVE NAMES because of your effort in doing this many people will remember and not Forget. I share this site all the time as I am sure others do too. God Bless you. I too have voted.
I passed the link on, too. Maybe all us old folks will remember to click daily…
Thank you so much for honoring our loved ones. I will pass this information on. We will always miss them but hope that America never forgets them. Love Momma Dee Mills
I voted for you! I'll keep voting. This is an important project. Thank you for taking on this labor of love.
Good luck to you. Hope you will win.
I voted for you.
I want to THANK all military for fighting to make our FREEDOM possible!!
voted.
CJ, has anyone else been having trouble today with the voting link? I tried here at home and also at work with no success. I get a one-line sentence about a syntax error.
It looks like the site is down for that part of it. Hopefully, it's still logging votes, so keep clicking on the link even if you get the error.
Got this error when I tried to vote,
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '>' in /home/content/l/i/f/lifeblue/html/web_design_contest_two/header.html on line 13
All the best CJ
I'm getting the same problem, still faithfully clicking though.
I thought something was wrong with my computer because I got the same error. That is a shame CJ if that's what they were doing to prevent you from winning. There should be some kind of law against such corruption.
