Bush Military Farewell
January 7th, 2009 by Admin
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates hosts an Armed Forces Farewell Ceremony for Commander in Chief George W. Bush at Fort Myer, VA. Our military will sorely miss our great CINC. This is long video, but well worth the time. The pride is Mr. Bush's eyes speaks volumes about the love he has for our troops.

CJ, Thank you for sharing this. This warmed my heart. God Bless you and all those that have served under President Bush. May you know that you are Loved and Honored and all Hero's in my heart.
Farewell, pres. bush!
What exactly are you going to miss about him? His ability to start wars, but not to finish them? His cleverness in letting Bin Laden escape justice? His brilliance in making even Saddam Hussein's governance look like a golden age of stability and efficiency?
Give it a rest Doug. The man is on the way out, let him go. Get over it already.
Do you even realise just how hateful you sound?
Well, there is plenty to hate, now, isn't there?
The only way Bush is a starter of wars is if he lied to us to start them, which he didn't. As for what you're saying about how Iraq was under Saddam Hussein's leadership, there's no need to waste any time with such ignorance.
This video was absolutely wonderful. Thank you for posting it, CJ. I'd read of the ceremony and read the speeches, but they don't compare to the video. Our Military is so outstanding and I'm grateful for the honor and respect they showed to Pres. and Mrs. Bush. I don't have enough adverbs – although I might could think of a few for the disrespect shown by some of your commenters. I'm sorry for you folks who have no respect for much of anything.
MissBirdlegs:
Please do not let my disdain for bush, which is equal at least in magnitude for the disdain many on this site have for the current President-elect, suggest to you that I "have no respect for much of anything." That would be a ridiculous and unfounded conclusion on your part. Indeed, I have as much respect for our country, our military and our political process as anyone else on this site – I just see matters from a perspective far different, but no less justified, than your own. But that is what our country is all about, correct?
CF, if that were indeed true you would take a video such as this where the MILITARY is paying tribute to a commander in chief – who happens to be someone you hate – and hail how sharp the troops look or what a great show they put on. Instead, you show your LACK of respect by simply opening your remarks with "Farewell, pres. bush!" You know and we all know that the implication, if not outright statement, was – that you're glad to see Bush go.
It's things like this that cause people to doubt your "respect" for anything. If you can't see past your own hate-filled eyes toward President Bush and see a video of a ceremony the military spend a lot of time and effort putting together, you'll never have our respect. This goes for other posts having NOTHING to do with Bush too. That is why Steve is no longer here. Well, that and the face I just don't like him. For some reason, you amuse me in your "admiration" for this President.
CJ:
Sorry for not being more clear – I (along with a super-majority of Americans) am extremely happy to see bush go, and the sooner the better! But that does not mean, nor should you conclude based thereon, that I fail to respect our military. Such is simply not the case, and I suspect that deep down you appreciate or at least acknowledge that fact.
Then the respect the military where appropriate WITHOUT bringing your Bush hate crap to the table. That's all I'm saying. Try to exercise some self control and separate the two when appropriate.
This was a great video CJ, I always love to see our boys and girls showing off what they know. And they sure know how to do that precision drill stuff!! Watching the President, I am guessing he had pretty much chewed the inside of his cheek raw, knowing thats what he does to try and keep himself from crying.
Thanks CJ for this! No matter how people feel about President Bush, they can't deny that he loves and respects our military men and women. Well some probably can but I'm not one of them! Godspeed Mr. President and Thank You for all the good things that you've done for this country!!
Thank you CJ. Thank you Pres. Bush, and especially, Thank you to all of our military. It's time to remember the good and let go of the bad…hopefully we can learn from the past. Whether you voted for Bush or not, (I didn't) let's move forward. I didn't agree 100% about any war…but we cant just sit idly by and watch while another country is torturing their own people either like Pres. Clinton did. Dont blame everything in the whole world on any one man…every one of us our human…but the Pres. of US has a great more deal of responsiblity and power than us, but even he has limitation and things beyond his control.
