I'm a contractor on the Army.mil Web team, and the Army even made suicide prevention training mandatory for us. It was a great, sincere and actually useful training, and it was good to know that "Big Army" cares about us silly contractors too. The training is really good for anyone who has or ever will deal with ANY person thinking of taking their life.

Thanks for your input as a writer - especially one so in-tune with DoD and Media Relations - and especially especially as an NCO.

Good Job C.J.
ONE MORE THING....
I thought readers would want to know this:
Army Reports another Suicide Spike for Feb.
[Arizona Republic, March 6, 2009]
After an alarming spike in soldier suicides in January, the Army said Thursday that there were 18 suspected suicides last month.

Thank you for such a heartfelt and informative post, CJ. Just as the world is made up of individuals, so is the military (even if you all wear the uniform). I know several parents who are concerned about the changes in their kids after deployment. And because they are not the spouse, they have been left out of the loop a bit. It sure helps to have a phone # or email address of someone you know you can contact for help.
And thanks for being a topnotch NCO ~

CJ,
If either of my sons were old enough and enlisted... I would hope their 1SG cares like you do.

Top's are special people. They care about their Soldiers like no one else in the Army. Thanks for what you do for troops I don't even know.
