Admin Can White Soldiers Be a Minority?

In my previous post (Attention All White Soldiers: You're RACIST!) I wrote that the Army's EO Program excludes minority Soldiers from be labeled as racist. But what does "Minority" really mean? Can a white Soldier be a minority? Encarta defines a minority group as a, "Group of people sharing common ethnic, racial, or religious backgrounds, especially when constituting a comparatively small proportion of a given population" (Encarta: Minority Group 2006). It seems that this definition does not exclude any particular race from being a minority. With this definition, yes white Soldiers could be a minority.
However, we all know that the US military has its own unique language. A civilian term does not necessarily have the same meaning in the military. For example, the military publication that identifies the geographical makeup of the US Armed Services, The Population Representation in the Military Services, identifies "minorities" within the US Services as:
           • Black-American
           • Hispanic-American
           • Asian-American
           • Native/Alaskan-American
           • Females – from all groups
Â
So therefore, white Soldiers are not a minority. The ratio of the races within a group of Soldiers does not matter: white Soldiers will always be the majority. This is supported by the fact that there is not one passage in any of the Army's EO publications that lists white Soldiers as a "minority". In every instance, white Soldiers are regarded as either "majority" or "dominant".

OH! You're my new favorite blogger fyi
Doc, I am not responsible for this post.
I experienced reverse racism while serving under an African-American LTC in Afghanistan. It was amazing. He also encouraged racial disharmony and assisted in attempting to press home an EEO investigation that wound up determining that he had an inappropriate relationship with an African-American NCO and showed clear favoritism towards the NCO, subverting the authority of other NCO's.
No action was taken to correct that situation whatsoever. Had the races been reversed, a white LTC in the same situation would have probably have had his career ended.
EO sometimes becomes a free pass to abuse by "minorities." As someone who has been subjected to such abuse, with no recourse and no justice, I can tell you that it sucks.
It's okay. I was born wrong. I was born white. America rocks.
I went to Basic at Ft.Cambell 07/1971, then onto Ft.Sill. At Basic most Drill.Instructors were Black, mine was. I RESPECTED him. Half my Company A92, were white from California, Boston, N.Y. and they were National Guardsmen. The other half were from the South, the Mid-west. up-state N.Y.. Half Black, half White, some Drafted, joined, and some were to go to jail but were given the choice of the ARMY, some took that route..Half my Guard Unit in CA. were Black. I never had a problem but>> ..in my Section most were Black, my BEST friend was white, we joined together. I was asked if I was prejudiced? as I always hung out with my buddy..That was strange because I never told them I had a mixed Black/white daughter 5 years old with a white mother, who's Bio-Dad left them..But they (2) thought I was Prejudiced..
Here is the meaning of the above,..a. An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.
I stayed in CA.National.Guard 8years. Rank E-6, never deployed..Thank GOD. My Mom was happy too!
TODAY as I see it more Whites join, then Hispanic and Black. Asian etc… is this true?
There will always be conflicts and I RESPECT each member of OUR five branches..all colors welcome..
