Rethinking Censorship

You know, why do we even censor military blogs with reporters like this running around?
Good gracious! I think she forgot to let the enemy know the kinds of weapons we're using and how much ammo we have while she's at it. Oh, and don't forget to publish our convoy timelines and resupply schedules. CNN is such a crock!

OMG! I agree with you CJ! You would think that even if the reporter didn't know better that the higher ups would know better then to allow that information on the air on the internet. Just another reason I don't watch CNN!
Even the Liberal agrees with you, CJ. That piece was a human interest story that went WAYYYYYY too far.
Who is the idoit that approved this stuff? I'm a military junky and even this is too much knowledge to be out there!…what a joke, she carries the protective vest???it's going to do a great job protecting her arm!
Why am I not surprised? That CNN reporter her crew and the powers who allowed this footage to be aired, should be shot. Hit them hard and set the example. But that will never happen because Amreica has to bloat everything out there. Learn from the rest of the world i.e. British SAS, Israeli's, 1970's Selous Scouts in Rhodesia, 1980's South African Recces and take some notes. You never allow the press near a war zone. But of course we know Hollywood needs the footage for next year's blockbuster; "Rambo 200 – Afghanistan you're mine".
I have a bad habit of not seeing the big picture so if there is one and I am out of line please set me straight.
With that said, I can not understand why they allow journalist to stay with units, if you want to make a video diary of what it is like send someone that knows what to do and what not to do and someone that really cares. I wish there where a group of retired military volunteers that would do this task, not this.. person who acts like she is on vacation it offends me as a spouse of a deployed soldier, you put me in the postion to have say good-bye, waiting for that tiny e-mail, IM, letter or phone call, while on the other hand you allow this.. person to stay with the very soldiers you separated me from just so she can pad her resume, it pisses me off and it is BS. Thank you for your time.
