CJ Border Wars
January 6th, 2010 by CJ
Every day thousands of men, women and children attempt to enter the United States illegally — some looking for work, some seeking a new life and others trying to smuggle drugs or other contraband. Many will do whatever it takes, often risking their lives by crossing Arizona’s treacherous Sonoran Desert. Now, follow the officers and agents of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as they scour the inhospitable landscape at one of the busiest border crossings in the country, seeking to fight terrorism and intercept illegal entrants from the air, on the ground and at the ports of entry.
Ride along on chases, rescues and busts with National Geographic Channel’s (NGC) brand-new series Border Wars, premiering Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT before moving to its regular night and time of Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. NGC cameras were given special access to go on duty with CBP agents and officers as they use every means at their disposal — from high-tech stealth planes to basic wilderness skills — to track, catch and deport illegal immigrants. We are there as officers and agents race to save illegal immigrants from possible death in desert heat, uncover a shocking smuggling strategy involving children and find a cache of narcotics that sets a new record for a single seizure.
The border between the United States and Mexico runs right through the sister towns of Nogales, Ariz., and Nogales, Mexico, which are separated by a security fence. Meet the officers and agents struggling every day to defend this border, including Officer Hector Navarro, part of the anti-terrorism contraband enforcement team; Agent Simon Keller, part of an 18-man all-terrain vehicle unit that navigates desert terrain too rough for cars; Officer Oscar Peru, who patrols the vast Arizona desert from a helicopter; Officer Mark Shanley, a 26-year CBP veteran who uses his hard-won experience to supplement the official manual; and Chief Rene Felix, a Nogales native with a personal mission to keep drug smugglers out of his town.

What's awesome is if we have a draft someday-
illegals of course will not be drafted and so will have the run of the country while the citizens go off and fight for them.
Ah, the draft gets mentioned again. I'd love to do an article on the draft, since I'm a board member for my region.
Of course illegals would not get drafted. They also don't pay taxes.
Nor do they have any protections under law. No medical care. No Social Security benefits. Nothing.
Now to shock everyone here.
Every single illegal caught should be immediately deported and banned from entering the country for life. And the borders should become a noose.
Shocked?
Not when you hear the next statement.
It should be made easier to legally enter the country. And becoming a citizen should be made easier.
This would reduce the strain on a currently overworked system. I also have a fast track to citizenship program that I came up with.
(Warning: People who are anti-amnesty may not like this.)
Bob the Liberal's Amnesty Program.
1. General amnesty for all illegals currently in the country. However, it is not a complete amnesty.
2. All illegals must register within 1 year. (To give these programs some start up time) When the immigrant registers, they are assessed a fine, of, say, $5000.00 each. But they get the green card at the same time. Offices of the Immigration and Naturalization Service will be opened and expanded in every city.
3. The fine must be paid before citizenship is granted. However, community service can be assigned in lieu of cash payment.
4. After the 1 year amnesty, the borders are strangled shut and any illegal alien is immediately deported and the home country presented with a bill for the costs, plus processing.
5. Citizenship times will be greatly reduced. Down to 5 years. However, English as a second language courses are MANDATORY! The current test will remain. (Hell, I took a sample one, and I had some trouble with it.)
Yes, the are some holes in this, but I leave those for people who are much smarter than me to fill.
And I still want to do the article on the draft.
