CJ Is He Really Dead? [UPDATE][UPDATE]
November 20th, 2005 by CJ
Let's keep our fingers crossed!!
[UPDATE][UPDATE] Al Qaeda denies it.
[UPDATE] Whether or not he's dead, his family wants nothing to do with him. 57 family members of Zarqawi have severed ties with him and denounced the terrorist leader, according to CNN.
The family members took out half page ads in Jordan's three main newspapers.
"As we pledge to maintain homage to your throne and to our precious Jordan … we denounce in the clearest terms all the terrorist actions claimed by the so-called Ahmed Fadheel Nazzal al-Khalayleh, who calls himself Abu Musab al-Zarqawi," the family members said.
"We announce, and all the people are our witnesses, that we — the sons of the al-Khalayleh tribe — are innocent of him and all that emanates from him, whether action, assertion or decision."
"A Jordanian doesn't stab himself with his own spear," they wrote. "We sever links with him until doomsday."
I'm not quite sure what to make of this, but it does help our cause of fighting terrorism. Hopefully, by denouncing the terrorism that Zarqawi espouses, it will help to convince others supporting their families failed terrorist agendas that they can come out in support of peace and end the suffering of the Iraqi people once and for all.
It won't be until more citizens, especially family members of leading terrorists, dedicate themselves to denouncing terrorism in all its forms that people can begin to heal and move forward. I applaud the al-Khalayleh tribe for their actions today.

Let's hope…unfortunately, I won't believe it. I think it would be a ploy to make us THINK he was dead. I would want to see the body like the bloated bodies of Sadam's sons. I am morbid! Actually, I am usually a believer, but these people have done nothing to make me trust their reports! I'm more apt to trust CNN than Arab tv!

Excellent posts the last couple of days (I'm catching up here). I so appreciate the soldiers that blog taking the time to update and explain things for us here at home. Keep posting!! We need your perspectives!
Now if an Arab "leader" would only issue a Fatwah against al-Qaeda….
We can only hope. Yes, the familes made a bold and courageous move in making those statements. Good for them.
Old Ranter

I hope they find him looking like a jigsaw puzzle!
